Dr. Sanna Sämfors is a postdoctoral researcher at Chalmers University of Technology, where she has specialized in 3D printing of biomaterials for tissue engineering applications.
Dr. Sämfors presented a poster at this year’s TERMIS world congress titled “Endothelial progenitor cells adhere to laminin-conjugated nanocellulose constructs – a facilitator of vascularization in engineered tissue»
Vascularization of tissue engineered constructs is important to achieve in order to move the field of tissue engineering forwards. Having constructs that will integrate well into the body and become vascularized in vivo is essential for the constructs to be functional when implanted. In her research she used TUNICELL together with alginate and adipose stromal vascular fraction (SVF) cells, with very promising results.
